Literacy at Home
Today the children will be bringing home a clear folder with a take home reader from the torus, their readers and writers notebook and a letter outlining literacy at home. If you have any questions please come and speak to one of the teachers in the neighbourhood.
Sun Smart Clothing
Princes Hill Primary is a sun smart school and in term 1 all
children must wear a wide brim hat or legionnaires hat during recess, lunch and
sport. No baseball caps. Children who do not have an appropriate hat will have
to play under the veranda. Children are not to wear singlets or tank tops.
Children are to wear shoes that are appropriate for sport every day.
Lunch
The school is introducing a new bin system and as a community
we would like to minimise our landfill waste. To help us achieve this goal we
ask that you try to pack a paper free lunch box. At lunch time we will have
green and yellow buckets available for the children to throw away any organic
or recyclable waste. Any other waste will be sent home in the children’s lunch
box along with any uneaten food which will help you know more about your
child’s eating habits at school.
Home Learning and Reading
Borrowing books for reading at home will begin this week (Week 2). The children will also receive
their readers and writers notebook with some information about how this can be
used for home learning. We will also use the blog for ideas about the possibilities for the readers and writers notebook entries.
Hi. Can I suggest that the boys' toilet door is wedged open as is the girls. It is a very heavy door. Also that the toilets get cleaned daily and thoroughly. My boy certainly needs as much encouragement and as few obstacles as possible to going to the toilet.
