Today the neighbourhood discussed the strategies that can used when estimating. We looked at and discussed the estimations that had been recorded for the jar of marbles. This lead to a conversation about how the marbles could be counted and grouped to assist with the estimation.
The children then worked in the circle, triangle and square groups. The circles made groups of 100. Below are examples of how some of the children showed 100 using a variety of materials.
